CRAFTY

This isn't the first time that I've been making construction paper dolls. Two years ago, I started to make them as an idea of their favorite men (idol or fictional) for my cousins for Christmas. This year, I actually bought presents to give but I still wanted to do something with art. ^U^ And so I did. Gingerbread people on top of the gifts~

Here's something I drew up tonight on the back of my Moleskine sketchbook, since I didn't have anymore pages to draw/color on. (; I absolutely love how the white shows on the red paper.

Well it has finally happened, a couple name has been brought upon this world for myself and Ace: GALAXY SISTERS. :D Cute, right? While Cheyenne and I have the childhood combo-name Cheyennmariz, Ace and I have thought up Galaxy Sisters after realizing that we both are in the Samsung Galaxy family. Not only that but out Korean pop loves come from the duo TVXQ (one for each), and saw that there are team shirts afloat the internet and thought that we needed a pair to be the ultimate twinsies. ♥

Another piece of fanart for another cousin (Ace of MAC) out of request, lol. Since the Korean drama, The Heirs, has been playing, Ace has been torn between starring actor Lee Minho, and her main Korean flame Shim Changmin. It's funny to see her go crazy when asked to pick on out of the two.

As a belated gift to my cousin (Cheyenne of MAC) for her 17th birthday, I decided to draw and watercolor Dudley from Street Fighter--since he's her second favorite character, next to Yun Lee. Since I've already gifted her with Yun for Christmas last year, why not Dudley? *w*

Tardy to the party, but this weekend I officially finished watching the series Breaking Bad. I did this doodle when I started watching the 5th season and after train episode, I felt the same way as Jesse Pinkman.* I'm sad that the series ended, but if it were dragged any longer, it'd probably end up stale. However, I felt that I needed some sort of epilogue to read or see when I realized I finished watching the last episode. Probably because I didn't want to face the fact it all ended...

It's been too long since I've last posted. すみません｡ (つд⊂) I pretty much didn't have a phone for 2 weeks, which meant I got more focused on my schoolwork. And honestly, the artist block wasn't very fun o_o ... but being on Netflix all day was. However, I got replacement phone and things will be getting back to normal. Emotional feels drawings and all =^･ω･^= ~♥

Since I've recently had two midterms out of the three classes I'm currently taking and I've started reading World War Z AND I've been trying to paint as much as I can, I've been trying to divide tasks... mainly putting off on the studies. So bad, I know but hey! I'm finally done with 2 and a half of my midterms this semester and have to wait till the beginning of November to completely finish them all.

So I've been on my painting and coloring gane recently and took advantage of having a little portfolio. So, I was like "Hell, why not just put small illustrations in there?" So just by cutting up some watercolor paper, painting and detailing with color pencils--voila! :)

As much as I like brushing up on my Japanese outside of class, I really am getting hit by school. x_x Oh school, keeping me busy. Anyways, being 18 is cool so far... I don't need my parents to sign anything for me, nor do I need their consent to do anything. I just need to take the next step and do the whole driver's license/ permit thing to do... Boo!

On another note, I have been drawing a lot and will have more posts coming more consistently~!

After watching Grave of the Fireflies again and having the brief obsession with gas masks, I sketched a lot of masks and still had the movie in mind. I drew up a character and basically based her off of Setsuko--patterned pants, yellow shirt, and even her little purse. I sketched her as if she grew out of her clothes.
Just the happening of war and being such a little girl is a crazy thing to think about, especially the struggles that she and her brother had to face. It's just something that anybody has to watch~

I took a shot back into the acryllic paints for the first time in years~. I wanted to take advantage of having canvases and just try it out. Obviously acryllics and oil paints are different than water colors, so it was kind of a different feel when putting it on the surface. I was quite ambitious by putting a clutter of things into the small 5.5"x7" canvas, but I just wanted more to color. ^^
Anyways, here's a new piece for this week!
And I turn 18 in two days!

Ahh, it has been too long since I have been on a computer and got to go on Illustrator and/or Photoshop! I don't want to give the blame on school for my lack of Adobe time, but I really want to because of the work and actually studying for tests. I actually like the study grind. :) But the digital coloring and drawing was something that needed to happen. So I'm spending my first day of the weekend to drawing and mediocrely coloring for the meantime. ( º I º )v

Unfortunately I have been busy with my first two weeks of school, thus the lack of posting. :< But no fear, I will be posting the drawings I've been doing throught the weeks! (=^▽^=)

Here's one from last night. I wasn't able to sleep due to my want to keep drawing. XP (Huh, sounds a bit sketchy but it's true! I get those!) It started from my sketchbook, but I like to color and outline my drawings on my phone sometimes.
I also think I'm getting better with my S Memo skillz.

I was looking through Tumblr and came across a picture of a gas mask, thus making me look for different styles of masks to draw. As creepy-looking as they are, they serve a good purpose and do look pretty cool too...

When I was looking through the "gas mask" tumblr tag, I mainly saw old photos of people (most likely during war or post-nuclear event) wearing them. Although I didn't didn't look deeply into what happened in the pictures, I guess the fact of war in history caught me and kept me in the search of looking for more.

Also, my little brother is always playing Team Fortress 2 and looking at the masks kinda made me think of that--weirdly.

An unfinished piece of a water colored drawing I did. Even though I'm pretty unsure how I'm going to be finishing the page, I know I want and will fill the entire piece of paper.

Since it is my last week before actually starting my college classes, I thought I'd be able to do something more productive. However, I only got in two drawings and a doodle done. Oh well.

ADVENTURES IN HAIR DYING: Part One

Well before going to sleep, I took the foil off and washed the pink dye off again. Unfortunately, I didn't get the result I wanted once again. I shouldn't say that my current bleaching is blonde, but more of a light brown. (Let's just say, if it were the color of all of my hair, it would blend in with my skin! D: )

Hehe. This is a good laughing experience and a lesson in patience. And since this was a spontaneous thing Thao and I attempted as something to do before I went back to school on the 26th, I shouldn't have expected instant results... especially in the case of my virgin hair (never has been dyed). So, I guess I'll gradually bleach my hair--continuing to kill it-- and then make it pink.

Just remember, my goal is make it pink! lol

I want to paint more... Jus never know what to paint. Top: outfit I want to wear, lol. Is that weird? I just can't wait for the winter to wear sweaters and just layer myself up~! (*^o^*) Bottom: I was thinking about the creases on people's faces when expressions were made. I thought of anger and pretty much drew a She-Hulk.

Something I whipped up while I was spending about a week at a cousin's house in Modesto helping out a bit for her upcoming 18th birthday cotillion. While there I made sure that I had at least one drawing for each day there. Weirdly, I kinda have been trying to draw on the creepy-ish side or what I've been seeing in the psychological manga department. (Hence Doodle #020) Unfortunately, I stopped since the day I had to leave Modesto--thanks to curiosity and Creepy Pasta's vault of "Lost Episodes." lol.

I initially thought of drawing Kim Jaejoong and the bedazzled skull that accompanied him in the 'Mine' music video. However, I just went with a girl tattered with big eyes--something I've been sketching a lot lately.

Here are two character drawings I made. Colored straight from the scan finalized another character of mine, Bettie Infamy and just a male character I drew inspired by my bias, Jung Yunho-- named Zack... Whatever his last name is.. lol.

With these characters I tried to develop stories outside the ones made with MAC, but none I felt weren't too good or I didn't know how too make more stories for the characters I've developed. And since these were pretty much my main characters of a solo project that I want to pursue, I didn't want to just abandon them knowing that there can be something, somewhere for them. ^u^
